Almost Packed
So this week has been spent trying to pack and get ready to leave. I've spent the week buying gifts for Jose Manuel and Coco (Iris's two sons) and for Iris. I bought the kids Dr. Seuss books in Spanish. I also bought them band-aids with different pictures on them...very colorful. For Iris I bought some teas and some Mocha Kona Coffee...I know they grow coffee in Guatemala but I thought I would buy her Kona coffee since I consider Hawaii my home.
I'm just about ready to go!

Two Weeks Before I Leave
Two weeks from today I will be leaving for Guatemala to study for 3 months. While there I will be studying Spanish at a Language school in Antigua. Antigua is about 45 minutes outside of Guatemala City. I was down there this summer for 5 weeks with a group of students from NC State. I'm very excited about going back. While there I will stay with Iris and her children again. She has two boys ages six and four.
My classes will consist of four hours a day with one on one instruction. Then in the afternoons I will probably be volunteering at the same center I volunteered at this last time. The center was like a day care center. The children there were great.
